Dr. Ann Hatfield is the newest member of the long-established North Florida Women’s Physicians. She graduated with a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Notre Dame and then attended Duke University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Florida College of Medicine—Jacksonville, where she was Administrative Chief Resident her final year.
Following residency, Dr. Hatfield was instrumental in opening UF’s Generation to Generation Obstetrics & Gynecology Practice in Orange Park, where she was Medical Director and an Assistant Clinical Professor. She guided the practice from a group of three physicians seeing seven patients on their opening day to four physicians and one midwife who delivered nearly half of the obstetrical patients at Orange Park Medical Center.
In 2014, Dr. Hatfield left UF to join NFWP in Gainesville. She is very excited about facilitating the design and construction of the new office building that NFWP will be opening in late 2018. The 21,000 square-foot, 2-story building will have state of the art facilities, including space for in-office surgery and public meeting areas. Additionally, there will be a 3,300 square-foot birthing center on campus that will provide an alternative safe environment for low-risk obstetrical patients to deliver.
Dr. Hatfield has special clinical interests in adolescent gynecology, contraception and minimally invasive surgery. She is Board-Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow in the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her husband is the Associate Director of the Engineering School of Sustainable Infrastructure and Environment at UF, and they stay busy with their three elementary-school-aged daughters.
